It’s TIme To Update My Ranking of the Marvel Villains

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my Marvel villains roster but a lot has come out since then and after Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings I felt it was the perfect time to revisit this list. (Btw, I will be including some What If…? villains into this story as well because there are a couple that really stood out to me.) Okay, here we go.

30. Malekith

Malekith is still the worst MCU villain; the Dark Elf jibberish he speaks is ridiculous, and the entire design of the character is just not cool.

29. Karli Morgenthau

I wanted to like this character and while the writers tried to paint Karli in an empathetic light she and her scrappy band of Flag Smashers ultimately became some of my least favorite villains.

She brought nothing to this show and when she died I felt nothing.

28. Director Hayward

I think Director Hayward is undoubtedly the fandom’s most-hated villain and it’s easy to understand why. He is just so unbelievably dislikable and after seeing him manipulate the story about Wanda I disliked him even more!

27. Ghost

Part of the reason why I don’t watch Ant-Man and the Wasp anymore is because I don’t like Ghost. But when she does return in the future I’ll be happy to see her.

26. Ivan Vanko/Whiplash

“I want my bird” is the only thing that makes this character half-memorable.

25. Ronan the Accuser

mv5bmjexnzkxmjmzmv5bml5banbnxkftztgwodkxotmymje-_v1_-1.jpg

While Guardians of the Galaxy will always be one of my favorite Marvel films Ronan is just…corny. And he’s even worse in Captain Marvel.

Where Does Mysterio Fall in My Updated Ranking of the Marvel Villains?

With every year that passes my ranking of the Marvel villains is updated as new films in the franchise deliver new antagonists to enjoy. With Spider-Man: Far from Home under my belt, here is my latest ranking of the Marvel villains. Enjoy!

22. Malekith

MV5BMTYyMDA0NjcxNl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwOTU5MDMxMDE@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,1503,1000_AL_.jpg

Malekith is still the worst villain in Marvel.

21. Ronan the Accuser

mv5bmjexnzkxmjmzmv5bml5banbnxkftztgwodkxotmymje-_v1_-1.jpg

While Guardians of the Galaxy will always remain as one of my favorite Marvel films Ronan is just…corny.

20. Yellow Jacket

I like Yellow Jacket’s suit, I don’t like the man in the suit. He was way too cliché, his face was kind of annoying, and that ultimately is the problem.

Well, This ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Post-Credit Scene with Michael Keaton Went Nowhere

Post-credit scenes. They have become almost more exciting to see nowadays than the actual Marvel films…almost, and Marvel, knowing this has delivered us some pretty outstanding post-credit scenes over the years.

Spider-Man: Homecoming had two post-credit scenes. One made for laughs, the other made to potentially set up something for a Spider-Man sequel.

scorpion.jpg

The first post-credits scene shows Michael Keaton’s Mr. Toomes being stopped in the hall of a prison by a briefly seen character that was shown earlier in the film during the ferry scene. The post-credits scene plays out very cryptically but Spider-Man fans will quickly recognize the Scorpion tattoo on the man’s face.

It’s to hint that, in a sequel, Scorpion would arrive to cause Spider-Man some mischief. What made this idea even cooler was when the cast for Spider-Man: Far from Home was released Michael Keaton was part of the cast. Unfortunately, he wasn’t in the film at all and this Scorpion guy never so much as appeared in the movie. Now, there was a cut action scene that was revealed in an extended cut of the film that was released during Labor Day weekend at the movie theaters but when I went to the cast for Spider-Man: Far from Home on IMDb he wasn’t there.

This seems like a busted post-credit scene but maybe we’ll see Scorpion arrive in the next Spider-Man film, which would definitely be exciting.

Would you like to see Scorpion in the next Spider-Man movie? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a tremendous day.

Who’s Your Favorite Marvel Villain?

The week has passed and that means it’s time for another weekly Who’s Your Favorite segment. Last week I asked you all who was your favorite Marvel hero and you all made sure your voices were heard as you shared your thoughts and praises of Marvel’s superheroes. So, this week I’m excited to see which Marvel villain is the one you happen to enjoy the most. Here they are.

Ronan the Accuser

mv5bmjexnzkxmjmzmv5bml5banbnxkftztgwodkxotmymje-_v1_-1.jpg

Ronan the Accuser, a deranged Kree terrorist whose despisal against Xandarians led him on a path of revenge, of course, aided by Thanos. This is an interesting storyline because as we can see from Captain Marvel‘s teaser there was a time when he wasn’t the crazed warrior we see in Guardians of the Galaxy. So what happened in that timespan? Thankfully we’ll soon get some answers.

General “Thunderbolt” Ross

MV5BNDAyNjY5NzY3Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMzY3NTAyNw@@._V1_SX1777_CR0,0,1777,753_AL_.jpg

General “Thunderbolt” Ross was an acclaimed soldier of the US Army but his greed for power led him to become the abomination you see in the picture above. He had an awful fate. 😦

Malekith

MV5BMTYyMDA0NjcxNl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwOTU5MDMxMDE@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,1503,1000_AL_.jpg

To be honest, I don’t remember Malekith’s motivations very well so I’m going to keep this short. Malekith was the leader of the Dark Elves and his quest to dominate the galaxy (or something like that) led him on a collision course with the mighty Thor.

Who’s Your Favorite Marvel Villain?

This week has passed and that means it’s time for another weekly Who’s Your segment. Last week I asked you all who was your favorite classic Star Wars character and this week I’m excited to see which Marvel villain is the one you happen to enjoy the most. Here are all of the villains.

Ronan the Accuser

mv5bmjexnzkxmjmzmv5bml5banbnxkftztgwodkxotmymje-_v1_-1.jpg

Ronan was a slightly corny villain but that’s what made him so perfect for Guardians of the Galaxy. He was still a worthy adversary though as he nearly destroyed Xandar and was able to wield the might of the Power Stone. Thankfully the Guardians were more powerful than him though. 🙂

General “Thunderbolt” Ross

MV5BNDAyNjY5NzY3Nl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMzY3NTAyNw@@._V1_SX1777_CR0,0,1777,753_AL_.jpg

The anti-Hulk, that could’ve made for a very compelling and intimidating villain. While I don’t remember The Incredible Hulk very well I do remember this villain because he definitely was scary looking. Too bad the movie wasn’t better. *shrug*

Malekith

MV5BMTYyMDA0NjcxNl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwOTU5MDMxMDE@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,1503,1000_AL_.jpg

Malekith definitely wasn’t anywhere near the most compelling MCU villain but he did provide Thor and Loki plenty of anguish as he managed to kill off Thor’s mother.

Ranking the Marvel Villains: From Worst to Best

Marvel, throughout its decade long run, have had some memorable villains and then some rather lackluster antagonists at the same time. Unfortunately, Marvel is more known for having terrible bad guys with one-dimensional agendas rather than having enticing antagonists that really push these heroes to the test. Thankfully, after the last few films the villains in Marvel are getting a better wrap than they once did but there’s still work to be done. So, on that note, I’m going to provide you my ranking of the seventeen Marvel villains so far.

17. Malekith

MV5BMTYyMDA0NjcxNl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwOTU5MDMxMDE@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,1503,1000_AL_.jpg

Malekith is definitely the worst Marvel villain. When I watched Thor: The Dark World I was flabbergasted by how laughable his ideals and his plan for universe domination was. Malekith was 100% corny and I have nothing more to say.

16. Ronan the Accuser

mv5bmjexnzkxmjmzmv5bml5banbnxkftztgwodkxotmymje-_v1_-1.jpg

I literally just watched Guardians of the Galaxy yesterday after not having seen it for quite a while and Ronan was definitely not a great villain. He was powerful, nothing more, but his corny aspect was perfect for the film and at least he was a rather formidable foe.

15. Yellow Jacket

MV5BMDIwNDY3N2ItMzIxMy00NTJiLThhNjQtNjlhOTMxODcwNzhmXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTc3MjUzNTI@._V1_.jpg

Yellow Jacket was laughable. He was cynical, wanted to become the hero of humanity, and everything that a cliché villain is. Yellow Jacket is as forgettable as they come and that’s why he’s so low on this list.
