When I first heard that there was going to be a Bumblebee spinoff movie set in the 80s’ I wasn’t thrilled of the idea. The last Transformers movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, was pretty atrocious. So atrocious in fact that I can’t even watch the movie even though I have tried to enjoy it because I loved Age of Extinction so much. So, after how terrible The Last Knight was, I definitely wasn’t ready to see a Transformers movie anytime soon but after hearing that Bumblebee was actually considered a legitimate success I was super excited to see this Transformers spinoff. And it truly deserves all the praise it can get.
Up until Bumblebee, the Transformers franchise has valued explosions and action over substance and at the end of the day, people want to come away from a film feeling that they’ve watched a good movie rather than two-plus hours of destructive hodgepodge that’ll look cool in IMAX. (I happen to be a fan of awesome eye-popping action but that’s just me.) Bumblebee detracted from that model, however, and focused highly on telling a solid story that came from the heart.
Learning Bumblebee’s origin story was kind of amazing and I enjoyed nearly every second of the film. His relationship with Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) was beautiful and very well-written. The movie took its time to set up event after event and nothing happened that wasn’t expected. The story was easily predictable but in a good way.
I found myself trying to hold back tears on a number of occasions and by the end of the movie I suddenly felt even more interested in Bumblebee. Now I want to watch Age of Extinction for no particular reason other than to see Bumblebee because now I feel I know his character even more and I love it.

I just finished watching Bumblebee and am getting ready to see Aquaman but I figured while I have this break I might as well share with you all my near-live reaction to the film.
Bumblebee is a good movie through and through. Unlike every Transformers movie before the story is clear, concise, and very easy to follow. None of the characters are annoying and the themes are very family friendly which is nice to see, considering that children like the Transformers just as much as adults.
I found the movie to be really fun and cute. There were some truly heartfelt moments that brought a tear (actually tears) to my eyes and when a movie can make me cry that means it’s touched my heart in one capacity or another.
Tomorrow I’ll share my full spoiler-free review and give you my entire verdict on the film but until then, yeah, it’s a solid movie that deserves all the praise. And it is easily the best film in the franchise so far.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. In a few hours, I will share with you my reaction to Aquaman. See you then! 🙂
It’s Christmas Eve folks and that means it’s pretty much going to be an awesome day. Christmas Day, however, is going to be even more special because my family and I are going to have ourselves a movie extravaganza involving ourselves going to see both Bumblebee and Aquaman in the same day and I couldn’t be more excited! *squeal* Ever since I heard the good reviews about both of these movies I’ve been bursting at the seams with anticipation to watch these films and now the time has finally come in the best possible way.
Tomorrow evening I will share with you all my reaction to both movies and then on Wednesday, you will get my full spoiler-free review of both films.
I’m so ready to see these movies and I hope I come away from both of them beaming with happiness, which I probably will if the reviews are anything to go by.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a magical day. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Fall has finally arrived and that means the fall movie season is here. Trailers are dropping left and right for upcoming movies and yet another trailer has dropped featuring a better look at this December’s next installment in the Transformers franchise; Bumblebee.
I saw the teaser back this summer when it first came out and while it didn’t show much I did happen to like it. Did it look one of the best Transformers movies I’ve ever seen, no, but it did look interesting. Now the newest trailer is here and I have to say, it looks kind of awesome. Here it is.

Today I saw the teaser for Bumblebee for the first time and I was excited…until the teaser came on. I LOVE the Transformers. I didn’t really know anything about them until I watched Transformers: Age of Extinction and I don’t care what anyone says about the movie. I loved it. So much that I went and watched it three times in the movie theaters. Last year I watched Transformers: The Last Knight and while it was enjoyable the first time around after a while it got boring fast. So with the announcement that there would be a Transformer spin-off film focused on Bumblebee I was totally excited to see what this movie could look like. Well, I’ve seen it and it’s not that great. Here it is.
This trailer really surprised me because it did not appeal to me in the slightest. Bumblebee looks way too cute looking for me which shouldn’t be a bad thing but I like the epic Bumblebee. Not Bumblebb-8. Two, there was nothing epic whatsoever from the look of the film and that’s sad because I love Transformers movie and this looks to be one film in that series I will not want to see. But who knows. Maybe the official trailer will be better.
I will say, the one part of the trailer that I did like was when Bumblebee spit that tape out of him at the end. Now that was funny. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this trailer more than I did and I thank you for reading. Have a beautiful day.
