When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe romance may not be something that immediately comes to mind but the relationships built and established in this franchise are some of the greatest we’ve seen in cinema. And, at the top of the romance list, are two couples that have melted our hearts over the years; Tony Stark and Pepper Potts and Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter. These love stories were present all the way until Avengers: Endgame, with both stories concluding in two very different yet very satisfying ways.
For this week’s Who’s Your Favorite? I figured this would be the perfect topic, considering that the next few weeks will probably be filled with Star Wars content considering that the final trailer will drop tomorrow night. Enjoy! Nearly two decades and four Spider-Men have arrived to grasp our hearts on the big screen. The character continuously evolves over the years and we could very well see a live-action version of Miles Morales in the coming decade, adding to this list. Because Spider-Man has been such a hot topic for the past month since the Sony/Marvel Studios debacle I felt he would be the perfect person for this week’s Who’s Your Favorite? Enjoy!
Tobey Maguire Becomes the First Live-Action Spider-Man
Tobey Maguire would become iconic for being the first person to bring the web-slinging superhero to life on the big screen that caught the hearts of millions. Grossing $825 million at the global box office, it was confirmed that this version of Spider-Man was a booming success.
He would go on to make two more movies, with Spider-Man 3 going on to have the worst reviews of all of the live-action Spider-Man films at 6.2 out of 10 stars on IMDb. It was after Spider-Man 3 that it was obvious a new Spider-Man needed to be crowned. Continue reading Who’s Your Favorite Spider-Man?
To now own Avengers: Endgame I get the chance to watch the final battle in Endgame as many times as my brain can withstand and it is SO much fun. That final battle is one of the most satisfying movie sequences that I have ever had the privilege to watch. With so many characters getting their chance to kick butt and dazzle audiences everyone can look at that sequence and find a moment that truly makes them happy.
So, for this week’s Who’s Your Favorite?, I wanted to break down one of the greatest sequences in cinema history. Enjoy!
The Beginning of the Showdown
We knew we would see our heroes face Thanos again but we didn’t know in which way they would come toe to toe with the Mad Titan once more. To have the Three Musketeers of The Avengers (lol) face Thanos first is not only a beautiful thing but a truly epic moment to start what is, in my opinion, undoubtedly one of the greatest battle sequences ever brought to the big screen. The last time I wrote this there were only three Avengers movies. Now there are four, and the fourth and final Avengers film is now the highest-grossing movie of all time. Wow! So, for this week’s Who’s Your Favorite? I decided to bring this post back to the forefront for this eventful Marvel year. Enjoy!
The Avengers could’ve been a flop, with a poor script, but with Joss Whedon’s direction and Kevin Feige’s oversight this film turned out to be a massive success. It brought together six amazing heroes in a fight to save Earth from Loki’s tyrannic dominion and it was simply awesome. Continue reading What’s Your Favorite ‘Avengers’ Movie?
