Throwback Friday: A Tantalizing Preview for Resistance Reborn Reveals a Very Blatant Fact for Rey

(Present day: I called it. Before The Rise of Skywalker came out, before the Reylo phenomenon was ultimately confirmed via smooch toward the conclusion of the movie, I had predicted that Rey was in love with Kylo Ren. This post details how I determined this shocking truth.)

Before The Mandalorian, before Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, before the biggest event of the year for Star Wars fans, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, we have Resistance Reborn, a novel set shortly after the events of The Last Jedi, featuring General Organa, Rey, Poe, and Finn in an adventure to restore the Resistance to glory before the events of The Rise of Skywalker. It’s a must-have prequel to the movie Star Wars fans are counting down the days for and yesterday an exclusive excerpt was dropped on to get us pumped for the novel.

Of course, I read it, and it was expectedly thrilling but there was something very blatant that I gleaned from a certain section of the excerpt that caught my very rigid attention. Here it is. It’s Two Weeks Until ‘The Rise of Skywalker’!

Earlier I shared a post looking back at the two-week milestone for The Last Jedi. Well, the two-week mark for The Rise of Skywalker has arrived and I am ecstatic. Absolutely, utterly ECSTATIC! How will this story conclude? What surprises are in store? How will J.J Abrams and fellow co-writer Chris Terrio resolve a story 42 years in the making? I have so many questions, questions that will be answered in two freaking weeks. I’m just…the excitement coursing through my veins is electric.

But for now, I will simply state what I’m most excited to see in this final film and try to deliver a cohesive post that doesn’t sound like I’m rambling in excitement because my brain is moving a million miles an hour right now. Lol, enjoy.

Rey’s Story

As with The Last Jedi, Rey’s story and involvement in this chapter of the Skywalker Saga are still very murky. We know she’s powerful, we know she holds importance to the outcome of whatever is about to happen, but the question is why? Rey was deemed a “nobody” in The Last Jedi but being a “nobody” doesn’t mean you’re not important.

Look at characters like Ezra Bridger, an orphaned kid whose power with the Force and determination to free his planet, Lothal, from the clutches of the Empire, led him to deliver one of the first major losses to the tyrannical regime. Or Han Solo, another orphan who went through life smuggling and getting ahead but would eventually be a thorn in the Empire’s sides as one of the Rebellions’ top leaders.

Rey may not have a powerful lineage to rest back on like Kylo Ren (or at least that’s what we think) but that doesn’t make her any less special.

Beyond simply the “Who is She?” question, however, lies a speck of worry that is continuing to grow inside of me. I’ve said it many times. Rey is VERY dark-side prone, meaning she could be very susceptible to Palpatine’s influence. And I, like many others, would be delighted to see the story take a darker turn and evolve Rey into someone corrupted by the darkness, at least for a short while. Not only would that be kind of scary but it would be the plot twist the trilogy needs to end the Skywalker Saga off with a bang. Continue reading “It’s Two Weeks Until ‘The Rise of Skywalker’!”

What’s Your Favorite Sequel Trilogy Official Poster?

Last week the official trailer and poster for The Rise of Skywalker arrived, dazzling Star Wars fans around the world due to its powerful theme of hope and the implications to what could be a mesmerizing saga finale. A little while ago I shared a post determining what your favorite Sequel Trilogy teaser poster was. Now, for this week’s Who’s Your Favorite? I thought it would be the perfect time to compare the official posters of the Sequel Trilogy. So, here the are.

The Force Awakens

This poster was designed to make Star Wars fans absolutely lose it with excitement and LucasFilm did a great job exceeding all of our expectations. Disney wanted to prove, in a very big way, that Star Wars was back and this poster illustrates that abundantly.

The design is so well made, from the color scheme to the poses of the actors this poster is very precise, highlighting every single element on this poster in a big way.

Throwback Friday: What Can the Next Trailer for ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ Possibly Show Us?

For both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, we weren’t given trailers in August to enjoy, making the marketing for The Rise of Skywalker a touch bit different than last time as we were given new footage with the D23 Special Look. In case, you’ve forgotten how awesome it was let this remind you.

While this new footage was expectedly cryptic it still felt like we were seeing way more than we ought to know with Dark Rey appearing at the end to blow the Star Wars fandom’s socks off.

The new footage was so interesting in fact that I almost feel like I don’t want an official second trailer in October, lest we learn even more juicy details about the film. But that’s the thing. With the first teaser revealing Palpatine via his iconic cackle and the second trailer highlighting a potential Evil Rey what can the next trailer possibly show us to top that? Kylo Ren with a green lightsaber fighting Palpatine?!

Like I said before, I almost wish we didn’t have to see another trailer because I’m already beyond excited to see the movie but another trailer we will get regardless. So, what can this next trailer provide us that we haven’t already been given? Well, for this week’s Throwback Friday, I’m here to share a few ideas that could make the second The Rise of Skywalker trailer an utter blast to watch. My Sister’s Art Just Got a Shoutout from John Boyega!!!!

I’m always sharing my sister’s art and today, something monumental just happened.

John Boyega, literally John Boyega himself retweeted my sister’s art of Finn! Here’s the tweet to prove this incredible fact.

Omg, I’m literally sweating! This is so ridiculously exciting. Finn is one of our favorite characters of the franchise and this is just…to be recognized by John Boyega himself, it’s just astounding!!!!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day! May the Force be with you.

A Beloved ‘Star Wars’ Character Returns

The Rise of Skywalker is the finale of the Skywalker saga and J.J Abrams is going all out by bringing back some fan-favorites to grace his film. The latest character confirmed to return to a galaxy far, far away is rebel pilot, Wedge Antilles.

Wedge is the only rebel character to appear in all three Original Trilogy films, making him one of the greatest heroes in the franchise.

Apparently, he’s come back to the forefront to save the day alongside the Resistance and I can’t help being legitimately excited to see this movie. The Rise of Skywalker is sure to be a fun ride for Star Wars fans of all ages.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. May the Force be with you.
