The Journey to ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ Is Presenting Some Rather Exciting Novels

Every time a Star Wars movie is set to come out LucasFilm unveils novels made specifically for that particular film. Surprising fans around the world, it was unveiled, on Star Wars day, the entire list of books set to accompany the highly-anticipated Skywalker saga finale and, of course, it was a thrilling list.

Many of the books are made for young children but the novels catered to older fans are just as amazing as well. So, on that note, here are the books that I gravitated to the most. Enjoy!

Star Wars: The Ultimate Pop-Up Galaxy

I. Love. Pop-up books. I’ve loved them as a child, I’ve loved them as a teenager, and now as an adult, there’s still a sense of magic opening up a book and watching something pop to life in front of your eyes. And this clearly seems like the greatest pop-up book of all time. This is a definite must-have for any Star Wars fan.

It’s set to be released on October 8, 2019.

The Art of The Rise of Skywalker

First off, this cover is off the chain. The beauty, the simplicity, the epicness, everything about this cover screams awesome. I can’t wait to look within the confines of this fantastic book. But don’t get your hopes up in being able to read it before the film comes out because it’ll be available for purchase on the day of the film’s premiere.

It will be released on December 20, 2019.

The Ultimate Star Wars: New Edition

If you are a fan of Star Wars encyclopedia then this will be one to get. It will be the latest updated Star Wars encyclopedia, making it another definite must-have. I haven’t gotten a Star Wars encyclopedia since before Rogue One so I will definitely need an upgrade. 🙂

Force Collector

One of the two YA fictional novels set to come out this fall before the arrival of The Rise of Skywalker is this book you see here, Force Collector. It tells the story of an adventurous teenager who discovers his powers with the Force and learns what that power could mean for his destiny. Why would this story be connected to The Rise of Skywalker? What secrets does it potentially contain for the Skywalker saga? Only time will tell.

And last but not least…

Resistance Reborn

One of the reasons why I love the sequel trilogy so much is because I have grown to love these characters. When I learned that we would be getting a YA fiction novel starring, yours truly, Rey, Finn, Poe, and Leia in a story set before the events of The Rise of Skywalker I practically lost it. It’s like a fun warmup before the actual movie.

In this novel, we get an idea of where the characters are emotionally speaking, what obstacles, adventures, and villains they have faced, and we get to spend some time with these incredible heroes again.

This is the perfect novel to get pumped for the final film of this current trilogy and I just can’t wait to read it.
