These Shorts for ‘Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures’ Are Epic!

Yesterday I wrote a post announcing the arrival of Star Wars‘ next animated project, a series of shorts available to watch on both StarWarsKids.com and the Star Wars Youtube Channel. After watching the trailer I was more than excited and after seeing the shorts today I am through the roof with Star Wars nostalgia and happiness. So, with no further delay, let me tell you about these shorts and how I’d rank them.

6. Luke Skywalker-The Journey Begins

This may be my least favorite of the shorts but that doesn’t mean it’s not epic. I honestly was a bit surprised at short these shorts are but hey, they’re awesome, so it doesn’t matter. Grade: B+

5. R2-D2-A Loyal Droid

This is by no means an unentertaining animated short because it was phenomenal. It took one of the earliest yet greatest moments in A New Hope and spruced it up a bit to make a compelling 1 minute long short that had me utterly riveted. Grade: A-

Throwback Friday: My Cleveland Extravaganza

It’s Friday and that means it’s time for another weekly segment of Throwback Friday. Today I wanted to delve into memory lane and reshare with you all my fantastic trip to Cleveland, Ohio last year. I hope you enjoy. 🙂

I’m here to talk about my wonderful trip to a new city that I loved visiting so much. I hope you enjoy.

Thursday Evening

I was enjoying a wonderful vacation in a brand new city that I was having an absolutely fantastic time visiting and one of my magnificent family members up there said one of the places we had to check out was a place called Happy Dog. Oh, my goodness, this place had one of the best hot dogs I have ever had in my entire life.

But I’ll get to how the actual hot dog tasted in a little bit. First I have to talk about how Happy Dog’s interior looked.

We went to the restaurant around 5:00pm and it was a lovely crisp Cleveland evening. We parked around the corner from the restaurant and when we went inside I absolutely loved the interior.

‘Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures’ Is the Best Thing I’ve Seen All Day

Every few months or so LucasFilm announces a new project or series that captures the intrigue of Star Wars fans all around the world and keeps our thirsts for this franchise satiated until the next movie comes out. Well, yesterday, LucasFilm caught Star Wars fans’ attention when they announced a new series of animated shorts (kind of like the Forces of Destiny shorts) that would focus on retelling iconic moments in the films to appeal to a newer audience, the children of our world. It sounded boring, like something I would have no interest in whatsoever…until I saw the trailer. Here it is.

Oh my goodness, this just may be one of the coolest things I have ever seen! The Forces of Destiny shorts were…okay. I mean, they weren’t bad but they still were definitely targeting a younger audience rather than us adults which made the shorts a little underwhelming to watch. I’m sure if I was a child though I would’ve absolutely LOVED it.

Why, ‘Warcraft’, Why?

Remember nearly two and a half years ago when Warcraft, the film based on the highly-enjoyable, very popular MMO called World of Warcraft, charged into theaters? And remember when it turned out to be a flop, overall making a profit at least worldwide but proving the point that games can’t be turned into live-action films? Well, I missed Warcraft in the movie theaters two years ago but I did manage to see it when it was released digitally. I didn’t like it. I didn’t like it at all. I was mortified that a game so epic could be turned into a movie so horrid and I vowed to never watch it again. Jump forward to this month and I somehow managed to get the nerve to watch it again.

Have you ever watched a movie, thought it was awful, and then watched it again and actually enjoyed it? Well, this was what I was hoping would happen on my second viewing of the film. It did not happen. I was able to enjoy it a little more than I did last time, for I was kind of able to grasp what the world was going on in its very confusing storyline, but overall I came away from the movie disappointed yet again.

And what makes it so agonizing is the film could’ve easily been a good movie but it had too many problems.
